Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday presented the Budget 2025-26 for the national capital, calling it a “historic” step towards transforming Delhi’s economy. The budget, pegged at ₹1 lakh crore, marks a 31.5% increase from the previous year.

“This is not just a budget; it is a transformation from an economic crisis to a Viksit Delhi,” CM Gupta said while addressing the Assembly.

Key Allocations in Budget 2025-26:

CM Gupta slammed the AAP government, accusing them of mismanaging Delhi’s finances and prioritizing corrupt practices over development.

“The previous government failed in every aspect—Yamuna was unclean, roads were damaged, and air pollution was high. The revenue was being funneled into the pockets of the liquor mafia and PWD contractors,” she alleged.

She further added, “Being handed such a broken system and running it is no less than a challenge. But the days of financial mismanagement are over.”

Before presenting the budget, CM Gupta visited Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place, stating that “Bajrang Bali will do the best for Delhi. Delhi will progress, and Ram Rajya will be established.”

This marks the first budget presented by a BJP government in Delhi after 26 years, following the party’s return to power in the 2025 elections.
