Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders by ₹51.50, effective Monday, September 1. However, the rates for 14.2 kg domestic cylinders remain unchanged.

With the revision, the retail price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi now stands at ₹1,580, down from ₹1,631.50. In other metros, the revised prices are ₹1,684 in Kolkata, ₹1,531.50 in Mumbai, and ₹1,738 in Chennai, according to the Indian Oil Corporation.

Domestic LPG prices have remained steady since April 8. In Delhi, the price of a 14.2 kg cylinder continues to be ₹853. In Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai, prices stand at ₹868.50, ₹879, and ₹852.50 respectively.

The reduction in commercial cylinder prices is expected to bring relief to small businesses, including hotels, eateries, and shops, which depend heavily on LPG for daily operations.

In August, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted the Centre’s move to allocate ₹30,000 crore in 12 installments to oil companies, ensuring LPG prices remain stable despite global market fluctuations. The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved this compensation package on August 8.
