Opposition leaders from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday accused the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) of carrying out airstrikes in the Tirah Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, claiming the bombing killed at least 20 civilians, including women and children.
According to PTI’s provincial chapter, multiple bombs struck residential areas, destroying five houses. Disturbing images and videos shared by the party showed bodies, including those of children, lying amid the rubble.
“During the jet aircraft bombing in Tirah Valley, several bombs fell on the local population. Five houses of citizens were destroyed, and 20 bodies have been recovered so far, including children and women among the martyrs,” PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said in a post on X.
Provincial Assembly member Abdul Ghani Afridi condemned the alleged strikes, calling them “an open crime against humanity.” He accused the state of targeting its own people and appealed to the international community to take notice.
“If in Tirah Akakhel, our own protectors have mercilessly martyred innocent children, youth, and women, staining the earth with blood… we plead with the world, human rights organisations, and media: just as you raise your voice for Gaza, raise it for us too,” Afridi wrote.
Describing the aftermath as “a minor apocalypse,” Afridi said the valley once filled with children’s laughter is now littered with corpses. He demanded accountability, insisting that the “blood of the martyrs must be accounted for.”
So far, there has been no confirmation or official response from the Pakistan government regarding the alleged bombing.
