Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging a “collusion” to deny voting rights to ordinary citizens in Bihar.

Speaking at Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikaar Yatra in Nawada, Tejashwi claimed that the names of poor voters were being deleted from electoral rolls, while many living individuals were falsely declared dead.

“In collusion with the Election Commission, BJP leaders are snatching away the voting rights of poor youths. Names of genuine voters are being removed, and those alive are being shown as dead. They think they can fool the people of Bihar,” Tejashwi said.

Earlier in the rally, Rahul Gandhi reiterated his allegations of “vote theft,” accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, and the ECI of forming a “partnership” to suppress democracy. He said lakhs of voters in Bihar had been disenfranchised and accused the poll body of “magically” creating one crore new voters in Maharashtra after the Lok Sabha elections, benefitting the BJP in state polls.

“This is your constitutional right, and they are snatching it away. We will not let them steal even a single vote of Bihar,” Rahul said, flanked by Tejashwi and INDIA bloc leaders.
