A fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dwarka, Delhi, prompting a swift response from emergency services. The blaze originated in the sauna room on the second floor, but was brought under control without any casualties, officials confirmed.

“We received a call around 12:17 am about a fire at the Radisson Blu Hotel. It was found in the sauna room on the second floor and has now been extinguished. No casualties have been reported,” said Assistant Divisional Officer Ravi Nath.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, a separate major fire erupted in a shop located on the first floor of a three-storey building in Sadar Bazar, one of Old Delhi’s busiest commercial hubs. The fire was brought under control after an extensive firefighting operation.

Unfortunately, one fire operator sustained serious injuries during the Sadar Bazar operation and was shifted to a nearby medical facility. No additional injuries have been reported at this time.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer Sanjay Tomar stated, “Due to the dense market area and closely packed shops, the fire category was escalated. The injured fire operator has been evacuated, and we are monitoring the situation closely.”

The exact causes of both fires are yet to be determined. Investigations are currently underway.
