An all-party Parliamentary delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha returned to Delhi on Wednesday after a 14-day diplomatic mission across five Asian countries aimed at mobilising international support against Pakistan-backed cross-border terrorism.
The delegation visited Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Indonesia as part of India’s global outreach following Operation Sindoor—a precise military operation that dismantled nine terrorist training camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir in response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
The nine-member delegation included MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, Hemang Joshi (BJP), Abhishek Banerjee (TMC), John Brittas (CPI-M), and Salman Khurshid (Congress), along with Ambassador Mohan Kumar.
Speaking to IANS, delegation head Sanjay Kumar Jha highlighted five key takeaways:
- A united national stance against terrorism across party lines.
- Global condemnation of the Pahalgam attack and condolences for the 26 victims.
- International recognition of India’s targeted and restrained precision strikes.
- Resumption of flights and Cabinet presence in Jammu and Kashmir, signaling stability.
- A call for the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to take strong action against Pakistan.
BJP MP Hemang Joshi called the outreach a “unified effort to rally the world against terrorism.”
CPI(M) MP John Brittas noted the mission’s success in sensitising global leaders to India’s position.
TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee and BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi echoed the sentiment that “every country stands with India” in its fight against terrorism.
The initiative reinforced India’s role as a responsible regional power committed to peace, security, and cooperation, and sent a clear diplomatic message: terrorism will not be tolerated, and the world must act together.
