Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, leading a high-profile all-party parliamentary delegation, has announced that the team will use its international visits to share India’s longstanding experiences as a victim of terrorism and communicate the country’s firm stance of zero tolerance toward terror.
Speaking to the media ahead of the multi-nation tour, Tharoor emphasized the goal of projecting India’s unified message on global platforms. “We are going there to tell people about our experience, why we did what we did, and what would be India’s attitude going forward. We will meet people and share what we have been suffering from past so many years,” he said. The itinerary includes a visit to the 9/11 memorial in the United States and participation in Guyana’s Independence Day celebrations.
Tharoor also shared a photograph of the delegation on social media platform X, noting that additional members would join as the tour progresses. The delegation is scheduled to visit the United States, Guyana, Panama, Brazil, and Colombia.
Joining Tharoor, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya reinforced the delegation’s mission to expose Pakistan’s deep-rooted support for terrorism. “The Prime Minister has given us the responsibility to clearly communicate India’s position on terrorism emanating from Pakistan. The infrastructure Pakistan has built is not just a threat to India—it’s a threat to global peace and security,” Surya said.
He cited Pakistan’s long history of sponsoring terror attacks, including the recent Pahalgam incident, and accused the country of sheltering notorious terrorists such as Osama bin Laden. “It is beyond reasonable doubt that Pakistan today is a terror-exporting state,” Surya asserted, urging the international community to recognize and act on this threat.
The delegation includes a broad spectrum of Indian political voices, such as BJP’s Shashank Mani Tripathi, Bhubaneswar Kalita, and Tejasvi Surya; LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Choudhary; TDP’s GM Harish Balayogi; Shiv Sena’s Milind Deora; JMM’s Sarfaraz Ahmad; and former Indian Ambassador to the U.S., Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
The group is tasked with presenting India’s national consensus on terrorism, highlighting the country’s suffering and unwavering resolve to combat terror in all its forms. Alongside condemning Pakistan’s role, the delegation will also promote India’s message of peace, democracy, and global cooperation.
