In a significant diplomatic push to highlight its stance against terrorism, India has dispatched two of the seven planned all-party delegations to key global destinations as part of a coordinated outreach following the Pahalgam terror attack and subsequent Operation Sindoor.

The delegations, comprising parliamentarians across party lines, aim to project India’s unified stance on zero tolerance for terrorism and to counter Pakistan’s alleged global misinformation campaign. The initiative also seeks to inform the international community about the scale and objectives of Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April 22 terrorist attack.

One delegation, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, departed on Wednesday for a five-nation tour including Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Speaking before departure, Jha underscored the delegation’s mission: “Pakistan’s state policy is the patronage of terrorism. Our job is to expose this to the world and make clear that India will no longer tolerate such threats.”

This delegation also includes BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi and Brij Lal, Congress veteran Salman Khurshid, TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee, CPI(M) MP John Brittas, and former ambassador Mohan Kumar.

The second team, led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, will visit the UAE, Liberia, Congo, and Sierra Leone. Members include BJP leaders Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, and Manan Kumar Mishra, BJD’s Sasmit Patra, IUML’s E.T. Mohammed Basheer, BJP’s S.S. Ahluwalia, and former diplomat Sujan Chinoy.

Shinde emphasized the opportunity to present India’s reality to the global community: “India and Pakistan gained independence at the same time, but while India progressed economically, Pakistan progressed in terrorism. This is our chance to share the truth.”

Bansuri Swaraj added that India’s military had given a strong and just response to the terror attack in Pahalgam through Operation Sindoor. “This operation is a pledge of justice. As our PM has said, terror and talks cannot go together. This united delegation will carry forward that message.”

Ahluwalia criticized Pakistan’s “propaganda machinery” and stated the delegation would offer a factual counter-narrative to Pakistan’s attempts to distort global opinion.

Aparajita Sarangi lauded the initiative as a “well-thought-out diplomatic strategy” by the Modi government to present a united front on cross-border terrorism. CPI(M)’s John Brittas echoed the sentiment, saying the mission was to project India’s firm resolve against terror to the global community.

These all-party delegations are being sent to approximately 33 countries, including several United Nations Security Council members, to reinforce India’s stand on terrorism and expose Pakistan’s alleged complicity in sponsoring it.

Operation Sindoor was launched as a retaliatory action against terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The Indian Armed Forces carried out precision strikes on terror infrastructure and effectively responded to subsequent Pakistani military aggression.

India’s global campaign is being closely monitored as it marks a rare instance of political unity on foreign policy, particularly in matters concerning national security and cross-border terrorism.
