Union Minister Kiren Rijiju affirmed a strong sense of unity among political parties on Thursday after the Centre’s all-party meeting on Operation Sindoor, in which Indian Armed Forces destroyed nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Briefing reporters after the meeting, Rijiju said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired the session and detailed the operation’s objectives and outcomes to leaders from across the political spectrum. “All the leaders showcased maturity and solidarity. Everyone congratulated the armed forces and extended full support to the government,” Rijiju stated.

He also underscored that Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, was widely supported by all parties, who came together in the national interest. “Political parties are the voice of the people—and in this situation, all are speaking in one voice,” he added.

Rijiju cautioned against misinformation and urged people to trust only authentic sources, highlighting the spread of fake news around the ongoing situation. “We appeal to everyone to stay alert and not fall for unverified reports,” he said.

AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, who also attended the meeting, called the current situation a “golden opportunity” for India to both confront Pakistan and embrace Kashmiris. He urged the government to declare the victims of Pakistani shelling in Poonch as “terrorism victims” and provide compensation and housing to affected families.

Owaisi also flagged misinformation in international media, including false claims of a Rafale jet being downed, urging the Indian Air Force to officially deny such reports to maintain troop morale.

Operation Sindoor, executed early Wednesday, saw the coordinated involvement of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, striking deep inside Pakistani territory. The operation specifically targeted terrorist infrastructure linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and other groups, in a decisive response to cross-border terrorism.
