Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, while addressing the State Assembly, expressed strong confidence that the DMK would form the government for the seventh time, highlighting the party’s achievements and progressive schemes.
“I have faith that the DMK will form the government for the seventh time, seeing the achievements and schemes we have implemented so far. Tamil Nadu alone accounts for 42.2% of India’s electronics imports,” Stalin said, proudly pointing to the state’s economic contributions.
Describing his current term as “Dravidian Model government Part 1,” Stalin announced that “Version 2.0” would launch in 2026, promising even greater achievements for Tamil Nadu in the next term.
In a significant announcement, Stalin agreed to remove the term “Colony” from all government records, responding to a request from VCK MLA Sinthanai Selvan.
“The term ‘Colony’ has long been associated with oppression and untouchability. It will be eliminated from all government documents and efforts will be made to discourage its public usage,” he declared.
On law and order, Stalin emphasised the state’s swift response to criminal activity, proudly stating Tamil Nadu’s record compared favorably against other states.
“If criminal activities occur here, immediate action is taken. This is not Manipur, this is not Kashmir. This is Tamil Nadu,” he said, announcing that September 6 will now be celebrated as ‘Police Day’ to honour the contributions of the police force.
Highlighting Tamil Nadu’s academic achievements, Stalin noted that the state has the highest number of PhD scholars in the country, underlining the government’s focus on education and innovation.
Reflecting on the challenges his government faced, Stalin said, “Our journey has not been easy. Between the Union Government on one side and the Governor on the other, and with financial hurdles, our achievements have come despite great obstacles — like being caught between a snake above, foxes below, a ditch ahead, and a wall behind.”
