Despite the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, tourists continued to arrive in Bhaderwah on Tuesday, affirming their unwavering support for Kashmir and its place in India.

Visitors to the picturesque region condemned the April 22 attack, believed to be carried out by Pakistan-backed militants, and emphasized that such acts would not deter them from exploring the beauty of Jammu and Kashmir.

“The attack in Pahalgam was a cowardly act by Pakistan. They want to hurt tourism here, but they will fail. Kashmir was ours, is ours, and will always remain ours. This is our motherland, and we will keep coming back. We feel completely safe — the Indian Army is here, and the local people are very welcoming,” a tourist told ANI.

Another visitor echoed the sentiment, stating that refraining from travel would only send the wrong message. “Some people warned us not to come, but that would mean we’re scared. We want to show we’re not afraid. We will continue visiting Kashmir — it’s our heaven,” the tourist said.

The Pahalgam terror attack targeted tourists at the Baisaran meadow, killing 25 Indian nationals and one Nepalese citizen. The incident has sparked national outrage but has also drawn attention to the resilience of Indian tourism and public resolve.

Tourist Rishi Bhatt, who was ziplining in the area during the attack, praised the swift response of the Indian Army. “Within 20–25 minutes, the Army had arrived. They secured the area and protected all the tourists. We felt safe the moment we saw them. I’m truly grateful to them,” Bhatt said.

The strong turnout of tourists in Bhaderwah in the aftermath of the attack stands as a symbol of national unity, defiance against terror, and enduring faith in the safety and spirit of Kashmir as an integral part of India.
