Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli praised his team’s resilience after their important six-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. The match, played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, saw RCB climb to the top of the points table with their seventh win of the season.

Reflecting on the game, Kohli emphasized the tough nature of the pitch and the need for strategic adaptability. “It was a top win, especially looking at the surface. This wicket played very differently to the other games,” Kohli said during the post-match presentation.

A vital 119-run partnership between Kohli and Krunal Pandya anchored RCB’s innings. Kohli crafted a steady 51 off 47 balls, while Pandya stole the show with a brilliant unbeaten 73 off 47 deliveries, smashing five fours and four sixes.

Kohli spoke about his approach to building the innings, focusing on smart running between the wickets and calculated boundary-hitting. He also lauded Pandya’s long-awaited batting performance and the strong communication within the team that has led to consistent results.

“This year, you can’t just come out and hit; you have to assess, understand the conditions, and then plan accordingly. We have communicated beautifully as a team in the batting, and that’s the reason we have 7 wins out of 10,” he explained.

The former RCB captain also praised the squad’s depth, highlighting the explosive firepower of Romario Shepherd and Tim David in the lower order, along with the world-class bowling efforts of Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Kohli noted that Krunal Pandya’s contributions with the ball and the promising performances from Suyash, despite limited wickets, add to RCB’s strength.

With momentum on their side and team synergy at its peak, RCB now look like strong contenders as the IPL 2025 season progresses.
