In the 121st episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the horrific Pahalgam terror attack of April 22, offering heartfelt condolences to the families of the 26 victims, including several tourists. The attack, one of the deadliest in Kashmir since the 2019 Pulwama strike, left many injured and sparked nationwide outrage.
Prime Minister Modi expressed deep sorrow over the incident, calling it an act of desperation by the perpetrators of terrorism. “Today, as I talk my heart out with you, there is a deep agony in my heart. The Pahalgam terrorist attack has left every citizen of the country heartbroken,” he said. “No matter which state one belongs to, no matter which language one speaks, I understand every citizen is seething with anger after seeing the images of the terrorist attack.”
He described the attack as an attempt to disrupt the peace returning to Kashmir, stressing that the enemies of the nation could not tolerate the growing stability, tourism, and economic prosperity in the region. “This attack shows the desperation of the patrons of terrorism; it displays their cowardice,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed the country’s unity as its greatest strength in the ongoing fight against terrorism. “In this war against terrorism, the unity of the country, the solidarity of 140 crore Indians, is our biggest strength,” he said, urging the nation to strengthen its resolve and willpower.
The Prime Minister also noted that condolences had poured in from global leaders, condemning the attack and standing in solidarity with India. He assured the families of the victims that justice would be served, promising that the conspirators and perpetrators would face the harshest response. “I assure the victims’ families that they will get justice. The conspirators and perpetrators of this attack will face the harshest response,” PM Modi concluded.
This powerful address came as India continues to stand firm against the forces behind the attack, with the Prime Minister reaffirming the nation’s commitment to eliminating terrorism.
