Businessman Robert Vadra on Tuesday reiterated his claim that the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) investigation into the Gurugram land case is politically motivated, stating that there is “nothing” in the case and expressing hope for a conclusion soon.

Speaking to reporters outside the ED office in Delhi, Vadra said, “Case mein kuch nahin hai yaar… I hope there is a conclusion. They call me whenever they want to digress from real issues.”

Vadra, who is the husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, accused the BJP-led central government of using investigative agencies to silence voices critical of its policies. “Whenever I speak for the country, I am stopped. Rahul is stopped from speaking in Parliament. This is all political vendetta,” he said.

He further claimed that the renewed attention to his case coincided with his recent statement expressing openness to joining politics. “People want me to join politics. The moment I express willingness, old cases are dug up just to pull me down and distract from real national issues,” Vadra said.

Expressing frustration at the prolonged nature of the investigation, he said, “Does it take 20 years to find something? I have been summoned 15 times, sat for hours, and submitted 23,000 documents. Now they want all those again within a week—how is that even feasible?”

Tuesday’s questioning marked Vadra’s second summons in the Gurugram land case, with the previous one issued on April 8. Vadra walked from his residence to the ED office, accompanied by supporters who chanted slogans condemning the government’s alleged misuse of federal agencies.

Vadra has long maintained that the repeated probes into his business dealings are politically driven due to his association with the Gandhi family.
