Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday assured that the upcoming budget for the national capital will meet the expectations of its citizens, emphasizing a collaborative approach by directly engaging with various sections of society.

Addressing a press conference, CM Gupta stated, “I will personally meet women, families in slum areas, youth, and professionals from different sectors to understand their aspirations and needs. The Delhi budget will be crafted to fulfill the expectations of the people.”

Taking a dig at the opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Gupta dismissed their recent protests over the delay in implementing the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana. “We will fulfill all the promises we made in our manifesto, whether it’s providing Rs 2,100 to all women or subsidizing LPG cylinders. No one needs to remind us of our agenda — it’s our vision, not theirs,” she asserted.

Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra echoed Gupta’s commitment to inclusivity, calling the forthcoming budget a “people’s budget” shaped by public input. “CM Rekha Gupta has decided to prepare the budget after consulting the people of Delhi. She is already meeting women and will soon meet business leaders and professionals. All their suggestions will be considered and reflected in the final budget,” Mishra told ANI.

The ‘Viksit Delhi’ budget for 2025-26 is set to be presented in the Assembly between March 24 and 26, with a strong focus on holistic development and public participation. Gupta highlighted key priorities, including financial assistance for women, healthcare expansion, promoting public transport, reducing pollution, cleaning the Yamuna, employment generation, and senior citizen welfare.

To ensure maximum public involvement, the government has launched an email ([email protected]) and a WhatsApp number (999962025), inviting citizens to share their suggestions directly. “This budget will reflect the collective vision of Delhi’s people, and every voice will be heard,” the Chief Minister added.
