Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday underscored the pivotal role of India’s youth in shaping the nation’s future, calling them the biggest beneficiaries and key stakeholders in the vision of a developed India. He declared that empowering the younger generation remains a top priority for his government.
Addressing the nation, PM Modi highlighted the transformative impact of the National Education Policy (NEP), which encourages students to think beyond textbooks. “From middle school, children are learning coding and preparing for fields like AI and data science. This year’s budget has also announced the creation of 50,000 new Atal Tinkering Labs,” he said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to fostering innovation and technological advancement.
The Prime Minister also introduced the “One Nation, One Subscription” initiative, aimed at providing free access to renowned global journals for every researcher in the country. “Previously, students had to pay hefty fees for journal subscriptions. Now, the government is investing over ₹6,000 crore to ensure researchers have access to top-tier information sources worldwide,” PM Modi stated.
Highlighting India’s growing capabilities in space exploration, biotech research, and artificial intelligence, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that the country’s students are emerging as future global leaders. He recalled inspiring interactions between Indian students and international experts like physicist Dr. Brian Greene and astronaut Mike Massimino, affirming that India’s next major innovation could arise from a small school anywhere in the nation.
PM Modi shared his bold vision for India’s global presence, stating that this is not the time for “small thinking or small steps.” He envisions a future where “Made in India” becomes a global standard of quality and excellence. “I dream of a world where people think of ‘Heal in India’ for medical treatment, ‘Wed in India’ for destination weddings, and prioritize India for travel, conferences, exhibitions, and concerts,” he said.
Encouraging a spirit of determination and optimism, the Prime Minister urged the nation to embrace this vision with courage and resolve. “India is moving forward with the ambition to become a developed nation in the next 25 years,” he concluded, reaffirming his government’s commitment to empowering the youth and building a prosperous future for all.
