Delhi Minister and BJP leader Parvesh Verma stated on Tuesday that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, set to be tabled today, will reveal the extent of the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) alleged corruption. Verma accused AAP of exploiting taxpayers and vowed to disclose the report’s findings once it’s made public.
BJP leaders Ashish Sood and Ravinder Singh Negi echoed similar sentiments, asserting that those responsible for financial misdeeds would be held accountable, with some AAP ministers potentially facing jail time based on the report’s findings.
The newly formed BJP-led government in Delhi, under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, will present 14 CAG reports during the second day of the eighth legislative assembly session. These reports are expected to highlight financial irregularities during the AAP government’s tenure, with BJP leaders alleging that the reports were withheld for three years to hide evidence of mismanagement and corruption.
As the political tension rises, the Delhi Assembly prepares for a heated session with the CAG report set to play a pivotal role in shaping the debate around governance and accountability in the capital.
