Jason Hall, the Jamaican High Commissioner to India, has praised External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, calling him “one of the most proactive, productive, and efficient foreign ministers” after attending a session at IIT Varanasi.
Speaking to ANI on Sunday, Hall expressed his gratitude for Jaishankar’s participation in the session, highlighting the minister’s ability to carve out time from his busy schedule. “We especially enjoyed our session with the External Affairs Minister, and we must commend him for taking the time because I must say that he is easily one of the most proactive, productive, and efficient foreign ministers, alongside our own, of course,” Hall said.
Reflecting on his visits to Varanasi, Hall shared how each trip renews his sense of optimism. “This is not my first time in Varanasi, and every visit brings a renewed sense of optimism and faith in humanity,” he added. “What particularly moves me is the city’s ancient nature. When you think of this moment now compared to yesterday or 2000 years ago, the present becomes more significant. The history that Varanasi has witnessed makes the present experience here all the more amplified.”
Meanwhile, Jaishankar was attending the Advantage Assam 2.0 investment summit in Guwahati. He arrived in Jorhat with Heads of Missions from over 45 countries, and they were also scheduled to visit the Kaziranga National Park. Assam’s Agriculture Minister Atul Bora warmly welcomed the group at Jorhat Airport and shared the news on social media, saying, “It was my honor to warmly welcome the Hon’ble Union Minister of External Affairs, Shri S. Jaishankar ji, along with the Heads of Missions from over 45 countries. Their visit includes exploring the World Heritage Site, Kaziranga National Park, and participating in the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’ investment summit in Guwahati.”
