Bhutan’s Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, praised the School of Ultimate Leadership (SOUL) as the “brainchild” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a testament to his unwavering commitment to cultivating authentic leaders who are empowered to serve India.

Speaking at the SOUL Leadership Conclave in Delhi on Friday, Tobgay fondly referred to PM Modi as his “mentor and elder brother,” expressing how each encounter with him inspires him to work harder as a public servant.

Tobgay said, “Prime Minister, my elder brother, every time I meet you, I am filled with joy. You inspire me to work even harder as a public servant. Today is an important day in Bhutan as it marks the birth anniversary of His Majesty the King. I am honored to celebrate this occasion in India among friends, led by the honorable Prime Minister, and all distinguished guests present here.”

He continued, “I invite all of you to join me in offering our prayers and birthday greetings to our beloved monarch, King Jigme. I congratulate the leadership, management, and faculty of the School of Ultimate Leadership for bringing this important institution to life. SOUL is the brainchild of Prime Minister Modi and further demonstrates his dedication to nurturing true leaders who will serve India.”

Tobgay expressed his excitement at attending the conclave as a “student” eager to learn about leadership from PM Modi, whom he called “the greatest leader in the world.” He said, “I do not have lessons to offer on leadership, but I am here as a student, eager to learn from the greatest leader of the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I see in him the figure of an elder brother who always guides me.”

He commended PM Modi for his transformative leadership, which has propelled India forward in just a decade with wisdom, courage, and compassion. “Leadership,” Tobgay said, “is not about titles or position; it’s about vision, courage, and the ability to inspire change. A great leader guides society toward a more prosperous, peaceful, and happier future. Prime Minister Modi, in just 10 years, has steered India on a path of progress with his wise and compassionate leadership.”

Prime Minister Modi officially inaugurated the first edition of the SOUL Leadership Conclave at Bharat Mandapam on Friday. The two-day event, running from February 21 to 22, serves as a premier platform for leaders from diverse fields, including politics, sports, arts, media, public policy, business, and social sectors, to share their journeys and discuss leadership.

The conclave aims to foster an ecosystem of collaboration, learning, and thought leadership, helping young audiences gain valuable insights from both failures and successes. SOUL, an emerging leadership institution in Gujarat, is designed to train authentic leaders committed to advancing the public good, broadening the scope of political leadership in India.
