Following the swearing-in of the new Delhi Cabinet under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, newly appointed minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa expressed his commitment to realizing Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Delhi” (Developed Delhi). He emphasized the responsibility to fulfill this vision and improve the capital’s infrastructure, environment, and public health.
Sirsa spoke to ANI, stating, “This is a great responsibility, as we have been given the opportunity to contribute to the dream of PM Modi and make Delhi a ‘Viksit Dilli’. Our goal is to make Delhi prosperous, with clean water, air, and a revitalized Yamuna river.”
Fellow minister Pankaj Kumar Singh also underscored the government’s dedication to cleaning the Yamuna river, an issue that has long been a priority. “We will inspect the Yamuna river and ensure it is clean before the next Chhath Puja. The people of Delhi will witness a transformed, beautiful Yamuna. This is a promise from the BJP,” Singh stated.
He further affirmed that the cabinet would quickly move to implement the party’s proposed development schemes. “We will pass the necessary measures in the first cabinet meeting and take immediate steps to fulfill PM Modi’s promises. A cleaner, greener Delhi is on the horizon, and I personally promise a pristine Yamuna for the people,” Singh added.
Kapil Mishra, another newly elected MLA, called the day “historic,” pledging to work towards delivering the Prime Minister’s vision for the capital. “Today marks a historic moment. We will work tirelessly to implement PM Modi’s vision for Delhi,” Mishra remarked.
Earlier in the day, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta had described her appointment as a “miracle” and a “new chapter” in women’s political empowerment. She also emphasized her commitment to fighting corruption, vowing to hold those responsible accountable for any misuse of public funds. “If I can become CM, it shows there are no limits for women. Those who are corrupt will have to account for every penny,” Gupta said.
She also expressed her gratitude to the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership for placing their trust in her to lead the national capital.
