Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong critique of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress on Saturday, taking aim at their poor performance in the Delhi assembly polls. While celebrating the BJP’s victory, Modi referred to Congress’ failure as a “double hat-trick of zero” and slammed AAP over corruption allegations.

Addressing BJP workers at the party headquarters, PM Modi said the results reflected the nation’s trust in the BJP’s “double-engine government,” highlighting how Delhi has been freed from AAP’s rule. He accused AAP leaders of hiding their corruption through “conspiracies” and vowed that a detailed probe would be conducted into any financial misdeeds.

“AAPda people tried to hide their scams daily, but now the verdict is out,” Modi said. “In the first session of the assembly, we will table the CAG report, and every link of corruption will be probed. Those who looted will have to return it.”

PM Modi also took jabs at AAP’s leadership, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is facing corruption charges, and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is currently out on bail in connection with the excise policy case. He further mocked the party’s hypocrisy, claiming Kejriwal’s government, once born from an anti-corruption movement, was now steeped in corruption.

Highlighting the BJP’s “historic” victory, which saw it secure 48 seats in the 70-member Delhi assembly, Modi thanked Delhi voters for their unwavering support and promised to reciprocate with progress and development. He said, “Delhi has given us love, and we will return it in the form of development.”

Describing the BJP’s win as a significant step in restoring the capital’s governance, Modi said, “The people of Delhi have driven out AAPda. Delhi has been freed from its clutches. The mandate is clear – today, development, vision, and trust have won.”

Criticizing Congress for its lack of success in Delhi, Modi said the party had scored yet another “double hat-trick of zero,” failing to win a single seat in the last six assembly elections. “Congress has become a party of urban Naxals, stealing the language and agenda of its allies, and is now engaged in playing caste politics,” he said.

The Prime Minister also took aim at Congress’s failed efforts to gain electoral favor, mentioning their attempts to appeal to the Hindu vote after 2014 by visiting temples. “They tried everything, but it didn’t work. They have now abandoned that path,” he remarked.

Modi accused Congress of undermining its allies, calling the party a “Parjeevi Party” that had damaged its coalition relationships. He further claimed that the Congress was hurting the national interest with its divisive rhetoric and policies.

In an emotional speech, the Prime Minister celebrated the BJP’s growing influence across India, particularly in Delhi’s neighboring states, where BJP governments have flourished. “From the Northeast to Gujarat, from Bihar to Andhra Pradesh, BJP’s development model has transformed these regions,” he said.

PM Modi expressed his gratitude to Delhi’s voters, noting that their decision to support BJP was not just a win for the party, but for the “good governance” that BJP guarantees. He reiterated that the youth of Delhi would now experience BJP’s positive leadership for the first time.

Modi wrapped up his speech with a final reminder that the people of Delhi have decisively rejected “shortcut politics,” a clear reference to AAP’s promises that he claims were never fulfilled. “Delhi has made it clear that the real owners of the city are the people themselves,” he concluded.

The BJP’s sweeping victory in Delhi marks a return to power after over two decades and sets the stage for substantial political and governance changes in the national capital.
