Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, cast his vote in the Delhi Assembly elections on Wednesday at a polling booth in Raj Niwas Marg. After voting at St Xavier’s School, he appealed to Delhi residents to participate in large numbers, aiming to set a new voting record.
“I have urged the people of Delhi to vote in large numbers. I want them to create a record in voting,” Saxena told ANI.
Saxena stressed the significance of this election for the city’s future, citing critical issues such as pollution, waste management, and the cleaning of the Yamuna River. “This election is crucial in deciding the city’s future. Issues like pollution, garbage piles, and Yamuna cleaning are on people’s minds, and I am confident that the voters will choose their government keeping these in mind,” he added.
Saxena’s wife, Sangita Saxena, also cast her vote and emphasized the need for comprehensive development in Delhi. She urged citizens to fulfill their voting duties, saying, “Delhi needs all-round development in areas like water, air quality, security, and traffic. I appeal to the people of Delhi to come out and vote. This is not a holiday but a day of duty.”
