Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt greetings to the nation on the occasion of India’s 76th Republic Day, emphasizing the importance of preserving the ideals of the Constitution and working towards a stronger, prosperous India.

“Happy Republic Day. Today, we celebrate 75 glorious years of being a Republic. We bow to all the great women and men who made our Constitution and ensured that our journey is rooted in democracy, dignity, and unity. May this occasion strengthen our efforts toward preserving the ideals of our Constitution and working toward a stronger and prosperous India,” PM Modi posted on X.

India is marking its 76th Republic Day with a grand celebration at Kartavya Path, showcasing the nation’s cultural diversity, unity, equality, development, and military strength. President Droupadi Murmu will lead the celebrations, with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attending as the Chief Guest.

As part of the government’s Jan Bhagidari initiative, around 10,000 Special Guests from diverse walks of life have been invited to witness the parade. These individuals, referred to as the architects of Swarnim Bharat, include high achievers and beneficiaries of government schemes.

For the first time, the Republic Day parade will feature a tri-services tableau under the theme ‘Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat’ (Empowered and Secure India). The tableau will depict a Joint Operations Room, symbolizing the seamless integration and coordination among the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The celebrations will commence at 10:30 AM with PM Modi paying homage to fallen heroes at the National War Memorial. The President’s Bodyguard will escort President Murmu and Indonesian President Subianto to Kartavya Path in a traditional buggy.

The parade will feature:

  • The unfurling of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem and a 21-gun salute using indigenous 105-mm Light Field Guns.
  • Gallantry award winners, including Param Vir Chakra recipients Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav (Retd) and Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar (Retd), and Ashok Chakra recipient Lt Col Jas Ram Singh (Retd).
  • A 152-member marching contingent and a 190-member military band from Indonesia’s Military Academy, marking the first participation of an Indonesian contingent in a national day parade abroad.

The parade will showcase the 61 Cavalry, the world’s only active horsed cavalry regiment, along with nine mechanized columns and nine marching contingents, including units from the Jat Regiment, Garhwal Rifles, and Jammu & Kashmir Rifles Regiment.

The Fly-past, one of the most anticipated events, will feature 40 aircraft and helicopters, including Rafale, Su-30, Jaguar, Apache, and Mi-17.

The event will conclude with the National Anthem and the release of balloons carrying banners with the official logo commemorating 75 years of the Constitution coming into effect.

India’s Republic Day 2025 is a testament to the nation’s rich heritage, unity, and unwavering commitment to progress and defense.
