Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Indore in Madhya Pradesh and Udaipur in Rajasthan for being recognized as Wetland Accredited Cities, joining an elite list of 31 cities worldwide. This achievement, he said, underscores India’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development and fostering harmony between nature and urban growth.
Reacting to Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav’s post on X, which highlighted the achievement, PM Modi lauded the milestone as a significant step towards building a “Green Bharat” and a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). “I am thrilled to share that, for the first time in India’s history, Indore and Udaipur have joined the list of 31 Wetland Accredited Cities in the world. This is a testament to PM Narendra Modi’s vision of balancing economy and ecology,” Yadav said in his post.
He further added, “This recognition emphasizes the importance India places on the holistic development of urban areas while ensuring ecological conservation in both urban and rural regions. Congratulations to Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan on this remarkable achievement!”
In his response, PM Modi expressed hope that the recognition would inspire more efforts toward creating sustainable, eco-friendly, and greener urban spaces across India. “Congratulations to Indore and Udaipur! This recognition reflects our strong commitment to sustainable development and nurturing harmony between nature and urban growth. May this inspire everyone to work towards creating cleaner and greener cities across the nation,” the Prime Minister posted on X.
