Delhi Chief Minister and AAP candidate Atishi will file her nomination today from the Kalkaji Assembly constituency for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for February 5.

In a post on X, Atishi shared her plans for the day, saying, “I will first visit Kalkaji Temple to seek blessings from Kalka Maa. After that, I will pray at Giri Nagar Gurudwara, before beginning my nomination rally. In the last five years, I have received immense love from my family in Kalkaji, and I believe their blessings will continue to guide me.”

Speaking to ANI, Atishi criticized the BJP, accusing them of engaging in “farzivada” (fraudulent practices) in the upcoming elections. She alleged that the BJP has been manipulating voter rolls, citing a rise in new voter applications in New Delhi Legislative Assembly from December 15 to January 8. “The BJP is resorting to forgery, just like they did in Maharashtra and Haryana, but they got caught in Delhi. We will not allow them to engage in any wrongdoings. The BJP has been in power at the Centre for more than 10 years, yet what have they done for the people of Delhi? Their only focus is attacking Kejriwal, and they lack both a clear CM candidate and any vision for the city,” Atishi said.

Atishi will be contesting the Kalkaji seat against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress’ Alka Lamba.

In a separate development, just six hours after urging people to fund her campaign, Atishi raised over Rs 15 lakh through her online donation portal on Sunday. She has set a target of Rs 40 lakh for her campaign in Kalkaji. As of January 10, the donation page shows a total of Rs 15,15,930 contributed by 278 people.

Atishi explained that the funds came from ordinary supporters rather than businesspeople. “People are donating to support AAP’s honest politics. We do not accept money from big businessmen. The AAP government works for the common people. For my election from Kalkaji, I have launched a crowdfunding campaign for Rs 40 lakh, and I welcome any amount of support,” she said.

The Delhi Assembly elections will take place in a single phase on February 5, with the vote counting scheduled for February 8.
