Karan Johar is gearing up for an exciting new venture as he steps into the role of host for the Indian version of the global reality sensation, ‘The Traitors’. The announcement has already sparked enthusiasm among fans, with producers confirming the adaptation this past Tuesday.

On social media, Karan gave a sneak peek of the show through a captivating motion video on his Instagram, teasing viewers with the promise of a suspense-filled experience. “It’s so treacherous, you’ll sleep with one eye open! #TheTraitorsOnPrime, now filming for @primevideoin,” he wrote, setting the stage for what fans can expect.

Filming for the series is already underway, and the concept is as intriguing as ever. The show will gather 20 contestants in a stunning royal palace, where they will compete for a cash prize.

These players will engage in a series of challenging physical and psychological missions, all while trying to uncover the “traitors” hidden among them. The stakes are high, and tensions are sure to rise as alliances form and break throughout the competition.

Karan expressed his excitement about hosting this highly anticipated series. In a statement released by Prime Video, he shared his admiration for the original UK and US versions, which have captivated audiences around the world. “The Traitors is one of the most watched reality series, and its popularity is growing everywhere,” he said. “I have become an avid fan of the format and am in awe of Claudia Winkleman and Alan Cumming, who host their shows with such skill and suspense. I’m thrilled to take on this role for the Indian adaptation, and I assure you, the contestants are in for an unforgettable ride, especially with me orchestrating the drama from behind the scenes.”

Nikhil Madhok, Head of Originals for Prime Video in India, echoed Karan’s enthusiasm. He described the show as a significant milestone in their journey to deliver compelling unscripted content. “’The Traitors’ is a unique reality format that has captivated audiences globally,” he noted. “An exciting show like this needs an equally dynamic host, and we’re thrilled to have Karan Johar on board. ‘The Traitors’, originally known as ‘De Verraders’ in Dutch, was created by Marc Pos and IDTV’s Creative Director Jasper Hoogendoorn in collaboration with RTL Creative Unit. Since its debut in the Netherlands in 2021, the format has gained tremendous popularity, with over 25 international adaptations and multiple returning seasons.
