In a touching reminiscence, Jenna Ortega recently reflected on her early audition experiences with her late friend, Cameron Boyce, revealing the special bond they shared during their formative years in Hollywood. Speaking to Deadline, Ortega recounted a memorable moment from their teenage years when they were both vying for a role that required them to portray love interests.

“I remember the last time I saw Cameron,” Jenna Ortega said, her voice tinged with nostalgia. “We had known each other since I was about 11 or 12. Fast forward a few years later, at around 15 or 16, we found ourselves in an audition where we were supposed to kiss.” The gravity of the moment wasn’t lost on either of them. “He felt a bit awkward about it because he was a little older, and we both just looked at each other and said, ‘No, we can’t do this.'”

This decision turned a potentially uncomfortable situation into a sweet memory. Ortega appreciated the understanding they shared, noting how both felt uneasy during the audition. “It was such a kind gesture, and I was really thankful for it,” she added, reflecting on the significance of their friendship.

Cameron Boyce, who tragically passed away at the age of 20, was known for his roles in beloved productions like ‘Grown Ups’, ‘Jessie’, ‘Descendants’, and ‘Mrs. Fletcher’. His sudden death on July 6, 2019, left a profound impact on his friends, family, and fans. Reports indicated that he died in his sleep due to complications from epilepsy, a condition he had been managing.

At the time of his passing, his family released a heartfelt statement expressing their grief: “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.” They described him as one of “the brightest lights” and emphasized that his spirit would continue to live on through the kindness of those who knew and loved him.
