Bollywood fans were treated to a nostalgic moment when Salman Khan and Sonali Bendre reunited at a Mumbai event on Wednesday. The event, which aimed to promote eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, saw the stars come together with Salman’s sister Alvira also in attendance.
The sight of Salman and Sonali greeting each other with a heartfelt hug and sitting side-by-side quickly caught the attention of fans and media alike. Their appearance was reminiscent of their iconic roles in the 1999 film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, where Salman, playing Prem, and Sonali, as Preeti, portrayed a beloved couple. The event rekindled fond memories of their on-screen chemistry, sparking a flurry of social media posts from fans expressing their desire to see the duo collaborate again. One Instagram user even suggested, “Please someone cast them together again,” while another remarked, “Haye Prem and Preeti are back.”

On the film front, Salman Khan is gearing up for his next major project, ‘Sikandar’. This upcoming film marks the reunion of Salman with producer Sajid Nadiadwala, known for their previous hits such as ‘Kick’, ‘Judwaa’, and ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, ‘Sikandar’ is scheduled for release next Eid. Salman recently shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the film’s set, where he was seen in a light blue shirt, beaming at a screen, with Sajid Nadiadwala and Murugadoss sharing a laugh. He captioned the post, “Looking forward to #Eid2025 with team #Sikandar. Directed by @a.r.murugadoss, releasing in cinemas EID 2025.”
The excitement for ‘Sikandar’ also includes the addition of Rashmika Mandanna to the cast. Announced earlier in May 2024, Rashmika will star opposite Salman Khan, with the production house highlighting her involvement on social media. Rashmika herself expressed her excitement on Instagram, saying, “You guys for a long time have been asking me for the next update and here it is. Surprise!! I’m truly grateful and honoured to be a part of Sikandar.”
Meanwhile, Sonali Bendre, who was last seen in the second season of the OTT show ‘The Broken News’, continues to keep a low profile, making rare but memorable appearances that delight her fans.
