‘Maidaan’, directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, delves into the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, a revered figure in Indian football. Ajay Devgn portrays Rahim, bringing to life the legendary coach’s dedication and passion for the sport. The film also features Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh in key roles, each contributing to the film’s compelling narrative.

The movie’s musical score, crafted by the Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman, adds an emotional depth to the film’s storytelling. Despite facing numerous challenges, including a temporary halt in production due to the COVID-19 lockdown and the devastation caused by Cyclone Tauktae in 2021, ‘Maidaan’ finally made its way to theaters in April 2024.

The recognition at the Septimius Awards is a testament to the film’s artistic excellence and its resonance with audiences worldwide. The award not only celebrates the film’s achievements but also underscores its significant role in highlighting Indian football’s rich history on an international stage.

As the film continues to receive accolades, the team behind ‘Maidaan’ is undoubtedly celebrating this momentous achievement, reflecting the film’s powerful portrayal of sportsmanship and perseverance.
