The Delhi Police Special Cell has exposed a terror module with alleged Pakistani links, arresting three additional suspects and bringing the total number of arrests to five. Two others had been detained earlier.
Investigators said the group’s key operative, Ashraf Danish, coordinated the network from India while maintaining contact with handlers in Pakistan through encrypted and social media platforms. Police revealed that these channels were used to radicalise Indian youth, recruit members, and spread communal hatred.
Raids across Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Hyderabad, and Ranchi led to the arrests and questioning of nearly eight individuals. Among those arrested were two from Delhi and one each from the other three states.
From Danish’s possession, officials seized a country-made pistol, live ammunition, chemicals like hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, sulphur powder, copper sheets, ball bearings, electronic circuits, laptops, mobile phones, and cash—all suspected to be intended for making weapons and IEDs.
The Special Cell said further verification of the suspects’ multiple social media accounts is underway as part of efforts to uncover the full scope of the module.
