Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to Jammu and Kashmir’s political and security leadership, including former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, in the wake of Operation Sindoor, India’s precision military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Shah has instructed the Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF) to ensure comprehensive safety measures for residents in border areas, as tensions escalate between India and Pakistan. The Home Minister is closely monitoring the situation and remains in constant communication with security officials and state authorities.

Meanwhile, J&K LG Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level review meeting with district officials and police to assess the ground situation in border districts. He directed District Collectors to relocate civilians from vulnerable areas to safer locations and to ensure uninterrupted access to essential services such as food, shelter, medical care, and transportation.

“We will ensure safety of every citizen. Jai Hind!” the Office of the Lieutenant Governor posted on X.

Sinha emphasized the administration’s preparedness to deal with any contingency: “The government is fully prepared to deal with any eventuality,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Shah praised the Indian Armed Forces for their swift and decisive action, stating that Operation Sindoor was a powerful reply to the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives. He reiterated the Modi government’s unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism.

“Operation Sindoor is Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam. The Modi government is resolved to give a befitting response to any attack on India and its people,” Shah posted on X.

Operation Sindoor marked India’s deepest military strikes inside Pakistan’s undisputed territory since the 1971 war, successfully destroying nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
