On the occasion of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid heartfelt tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution, crediting him for inspiring the nation’s ongoing pursuit of social justice and inclusive development.
Taking to X, PM Modi wrote, “On behalf of all the countrymen, I bow down to Bharat Ratna Pujya Babasaheb on his birth anniversary. It is due to his inspiration that the country is dedicatedly engaged in realizing the dream of social justice today. His principles and ideals will give strength and momentum to the creation of an ‘Atmanirbhar’ and ‘Viksit’ India.”
As part of the Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations, the Prime Minister is set to launch multiple development projects in Haryana. He will begin his visit in Hisar, where he will flag off a commercial flight from Hisar to Ayodhya and lay the foundation stone of a new terminal building. He is also scheduled to address public gatherings in Hisar and Yamuna Nagar, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development initiatives.
Ambedkar Jayanti, a national holiday, is marked by tributes, floral offerings, and cultural programs across India in remembrance of Babasaheb’s legacy. Recognised as the ‘Father of the Indian Constitution,’ Dr. Ambedkar was also India’s first Law and Justice Minister and a relentless crusader for the rights of Dalits and other marginalised communities.
Born into a Dalit Mahar family in Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Ambedkar rose above adversity to become a towering figure in India’s social and political landscape. His life and work continue to inspire movements for equality, justice, and empowerment across the country.
