Congress leaders on Wednesday indicated that the party’s Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Patna would witness historic decisions aimed at “safeguarding democracy,” ahead of the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters, senior Congress leader Pawan Khera said, “This is a historic CWC meeting in a historic state, and historic decisions will be made. The message from Sadaqat Ashram, a place steeped in independence movement history, will be historic and aimed at protecting democracy.”

Other senior leaders echoed the sentiment. Salman Khurshid stressed the need for change in Bihar, stating, “Bihar needs change. Rahul Gandhi and others have worked diligently to bring it about.” M Veerappa Moily highlighted rising anti-incumbency against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the state’s “double-engine” government, while Bhupesh Baghel hinted at significant announcements from Rahul Gandhi regarding caste census and alleged vote theft.

Top Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and party president Mallikarjun Kharge, have arrived in Patna for the CWC meeting at Sadaqat Ashram, which is being closely watched for policy directions and election strategies.
