The Gadchiroli Police has registered an FIR against RJD leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav for allegedly posting objectionable and defamatory content against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media platform X.

The complaint was lodged by Milind Ramji Narote, BJP MLA from Gadchiroli, leading to the FIR being filed under sections 196(1)(a)(b), 356(2)(3), 352, and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to the FIR, the alleged posts were linked to PM Modi’s visit to Gaya district in Bihar on Friday, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth ₹13,000 crore.

As part of the visit, Modi also held a roadshow in Gaya, accompanied by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha. The Prime Minister flagged off two trains—the Amrit Bharat Express (Gaya–Delhi) aimed at improving passenger comfort and safety, and the Buddhist Circuit Train (Vaishali–Koderma) to promote religious tourism.

During his rally in Gaya, PM Modi launched a sharp attack on the Opposition, describing the RJD-Congress era in Bihar as an “era of darkness.” He alleged that under RJD rule, the state suffered from lack of education, jobs, and security, forcing generations to migrate.

The FIR against Tejashwi Yadav comes at a politically sensitive time, with Bihar Assembly elections expected later this year, likely between October and November, though dates have yet to be announced.
