Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Kiren Rijiju, along with several Members of Parliament, took part in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ bike rally in Delhi on Tuesday, marking the run-up to Independence Day celebrations.
The rally, organised under the Ministry of Culture’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, saw participants riding from Bharat Mandapam to India Gate, carrying the national flag. Shekhawat underscored the Tiranga’s role as a symbol of unity and sacrifice.
“Our tricolour binds us together, giving us a sense of purpose and reminding us of those who sacrificed their lives for the nation. As India enters Amrit Kaal and moves towards a Viksit Bharat, this annual Tiranga Yatra reinforces the love we hold for our country,” he said.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari expressed disappointment over the absence of INDIA bloc leaders, stating, “It’s sad they didn’t join despite the Ministry of Culture’s call. Everyone should have participated in this patriotic initiative.”
This year, the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign runs from August 2 to 15, encouraging citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes from August 13 to 15. Alongside, the government is promoting a cleanliness drive under the theme “Cleanliness is Service,” aiming to spread awareness nationwide.
