Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday hosted a dinner in the national capital for leaders of the INDIA alliance, an event the party described as “a powerful reaffirmation of unity.”

In a post on X, the Congress said, “Bound by a shared commitment to uphold the Constitution and protect our democracy, the gathering radiated camaraderie, mutual respect and unwavering resolve.”

Senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were seen engaging with alliance partners, while attendees included AAP MP Sanjay Singh, Independent MP Pappu Yadav, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, NCP (SCP) MP Supriya Sule, JMM MP Mahua Maji, and actor-turned-MP Jaya Bachchan, among others.

After the meeting, AAP’s Sanjay Singh underlined the opposition’s united stand on the Sensitive Issue of Representation (SIR), saying all parties were “together” on the matter, which he claimed had undermined electoral integrity nationwide.

Pappu Yadav struck a more combative tone, asserting that the INDIA bloc’s mission was to “restore people’s rights” under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. He accused the Prime Minister of having been “placed on the chair by stealing votes” and vowed the alliance would “uproot” those responsible.
