The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is set to celebrate the traditional Sri Sri Jagannath Dev Rath Yatra festival in Dhaka, beginning Friday, June 27, amid heightened security arrangements.

An ISKCON priest noted that the nine-day festival, deeply rooted in Sanatan Dharma, will feature devotional programs, cultural events, and large gatherings celebrating unity and spiritual joy.

“Rath Yatra is a grand gathering of harmony, devotion, and joyful chanting of Harinama. Like every year, ISKCON has planned extensive celebrations in Dhaka,” the priest stated.

The chariot procession will commence at 3:00 PM on June 27, starting from ISKCON’s Swamibag Ashram, and travel through prominent city landmarks, including Joykali Temple, Shapla Chattar, Baitul Mukarram Mosque, Press Club, Shaheed Minar, and Dhakeshwari Temple. The return procession is scheduled for Saturday, July 5, following the same route in reverse.

To facilitate the event, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Traffic Division has advised citizens and transporters to avoid the designated routes between 2 PM and 6 PM on both days. Authorities have assured that adequate security measures are in place to ensure a peaceful and uninterrupted celebration.
