Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia appeared before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday in connection with the alleged ₹2,000 crore classroom construction scam, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of misusing investigative agencies for political purposes.

Sisodia alleged that the case was part of a targeted political campaign by the BJP aimed at maligning AAP’s image and derailing its governance model, especially in the education sector.

“Delhi has seen the creation of world-class schools and classrooms. But the BJP, driven by political motives, is misusing central agencies to file false FIRs. This case is purely politically motivated, and I will present my side before the ACB,” Sisodia told reporters outside the ACB office.

He also hit out at BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, stating, “Manoj Tiwari had made similar allegations against me. I filed a defamation suit against him, and now he is out on bail. He is running away from accountability. Why is the BJP so desperate to frame AAP leaders?”

The ACB had earlier recorded statements from nearly 20 individuals, including engineers, contractors, and officials from Delhi’s Education Department. According to sources, investigators are probing the role of an architect who allegedly received payments from contractors, despite no official appointment—raising red flags over possible financial irregularities.

The FIR was filed based on complaints from BJP leaders Harish Khurana, Kapil Mishra, and Neelkanth Bakshi, accusing Sisodia and former minister Satyendar Jain of inflating costs in classroom construction across Delhi government schools. The alleged scam is pegged at around ₹2,000 crore.

As the case progresses, Sisodia remains out on bail in a separate excise policy case, while AAP continues to dismiss the classroom scam probe as yet another example of “vendetta politics” by the BJP.
