As part of India’s Operation Sindoor outreach, an all-party parliamentary delegation visiting Bahrain received strong support from the Bahraini leadership over the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, with Bahraini MPs expressing solidarity with India in its fight against cross-border terrorism.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, a member of the delegation led by BJP’s Baijayant Panda, said Bahrain had been the first country to condemn the attack and reaffirmed its unwavering support during recent meetings. “The meeting that took place today saw participation from several Bahraini MPs. Bahrain was the first nation to support India after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack…from today’s interaction, it’s clear that the entire Bahrain stands with India and will continue to do so,” Dubey told ANI.

AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, also part of the delegation, delivered a scathing critique of Pakistan, calling it a “failed state” and blaming it for decades of terrorism against India. “This problem emanates solely from Pakistan. Unless it stops promoting, aiding, and sponsoring terrorist groups, the threat will persist,” Owaisi said during an interaction with Bahraini leaders and dignitaries.

Highlighting the human cost of terrorism, Owaisi referred to the Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 innocent lives, including tourists. “One woman was widowed just a week after her wedding. Another lost her husband two months into marriage. These are the human tragedies caused by state-sponsored terror,” he said.

He praised India’s decisive response to terror threats and asserted the country’s readiness to counter future provocations. “India has the capability and resolve to defend itself and every individual residing within its borders. Our air defence systems effectively intercepted all incoming threats launched by Pakistan,” he said.

Calling for broader international action, Owaisi urged Bahrain to support efforts to re-list Pakistan in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list, citing the misuse of financial aid in funding terrorism. “We may have political differences at home, but on matters of national security, there is complete unity. We hope Bahrain will assist in holding Pakistan accountable by pushing for its return to the FATF grey list,” he added.

The multi-party delegation includes MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma (NJP), Asaduddin Owaisi (AIMIM), Satnam Singh Sandhu, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and former diplomat Harsh Vardhan Shringla. The team is on a regional tour that includes Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria, with the mission of countering misinformation, reinforcing India’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism, and securing international cooperation in isolating state-sponsored terror networks.
