Congress MP Dr. Amar Singh, part of an all-party parliamentary delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, emphasized on Saturday that the Pahalgam terror attack was not an isolated incident but a continuation of Pakistan’s long-standing support for terrorism. The delegation is visiting the UK, France, Germany, the EU, Italy, and Denmark to raise global awareness of Pakistan’s role in cross-border terrorism.

Speaking during the delegation’s outreach, Singh said, “The Pahalgam incident is not the first. There have been previous attacks in Jammu, Pathankot, and Bombay. Pakistan continues such acts and does not stop. Our effort is to tell the world this.”

Dr. Singh also accused Pakistan of sheltering terror groups, noting the presence of training camps in places like Bahawalpur and Muridke. He defended India’s May 7 response under Operation Sindoor, stressing that the airstrikes were carefully targeted at terrorist infrastructure without hitting any Pakistani military sites. “India only targeted terrorist camps,” he clarified.

Singh also highlighted the international community’s recognition of India’s restraint, mentioning Pakistan’s subsequent request for a ceasefire and the United States’ acknowledgment of India’s responsible conduct.

The all-party delegation, comprising leaders from across the political spectrum, aims to present a united front on the global stage. BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, who leads the group, stressed the importance of bipartisan unity. “There is a need for the whole of India to speak in one voice,” he said, underlining the significance of national consensus on the issue of terrorism.

The Indian government’s decision to include opposition members in the delegation was described by Prasad as a strategic move, demonstrating India’s resolve for peace while taking firm action against terrorism. “Wherever there is global terrorism, some needle of suspicion always points to Pakistan. We will convey India’s concerns,” he told ANI.

The Ministry of External Affairs has dispatched seven such delegations, each led by senior Members of Parliament including Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, JDU’s Sanjay Kumar Jha, DMK’s Kanimozhi, NCP (SP)’s Supriya Sule, BJP’s Baijayant Panda, and Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Eknath Shinde.

These global outreach efforts aim to reinforce India’s message of zero tolerance toward terrorism and build a stronger international coalition against states that sponsor and enable terror.
