“Terrorism Is War”: BJP MP Brij Lal Calls Out Pakistan, Reaffirms India’s Aggressive Stance at Global Forum

BJP MP Brij Lal, speaking in Japan as part of an all-party Indian delegation, reinforced India’s uncompromising stand against terrorism, asserting that any terror attack will be treated as an act of war. Addressing the Indian community in Tokyo, Lal laid out detailed evidence of Pakistan’s persistent involvement in terror strikes across India and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s zero-tolerance policy.

“A country can only progress in an atmosphere of peace and law and order,” Lal said. “Pakistan has always tried to sabotage this peace with repeated terror attacks, hoping to deter investment and destabilize India.”

Listing multiple instances of Pakistan-backed terrorism—including the 2005 Indian Science Congress attack in Bengaluru, the 2008 CRPF attack in Uttar Pradesh, and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks—Lal emphasized that there is overwhelming evidence of Pakistan’s hand in these acts, often through its proxies like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Mujahideen, and Indian Mujahideen.

“In 26/11 alone, we lost 171 people, including two IPS officers. We caught Ajmal Kasab, a Pakistani national, red-handed. Yet Pakistan denied involvement until its own media visited Kasab’s village,” Lal said.

Pointing to India’s evolving approach to national security under PM Modi, Lal said the government had decisively moved from reactive diplomacy to proactive defense. “Since 2014, India has changed its posture. We struck surgically in 2016, hit Balakot in 2019, and responded again with precision on April 22 under Operation Sindoor,” he stated. “They planned to bleed India with a thousand cuts, but now we strike back. Whenever there is terrorism, we will consider it as war.”

The all-party delegation, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha and comprising MPs from across the political spectrum—including CPI(M)’s John Brittas, TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee, and several BJP MPs—is on a diplomatic tour to brief international partners about India’s response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its broader battle against cross-border terrorism.

During their visit, the delegation is meeting with political leaders, officials, and Indian diaspora members across Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore to expose Pakistan’s role in fostering terrorism and to build global consensus on countering it.

India’s latest operation—Operation Sindoor—was launched on May 7 in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack. The operation targeted terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), with Indian forces carrying out precise, non-escalatory strikes. The military escalation has since de-escalated following a call between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of both countries.
