Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh confirmed on Saturday that the Pakistan Army is moving its troops toward forward areas, signalling possible offensive intentions.
“Pakistan Army has been observed to be moving its troops towards forward areas, indicating an offensive intent to further escalate the situation,” Wing Commander Singh said during a press briefing. She added that the Indian Armed Forces remain in a “high state of operational readiness,” and all hostile actions have been effectively countered with proportionate responses.
India, while committed to de-escalation, has made it clear that any easing of hostilities is conditional on reciprocal restraint from Pakistan. “Indian Armed Forces reiterated their commitment to non-escalation, provided the Pakistan side reciprocates,” Singh emphasized.
Singh also addressed the misinformation campaign launched by Pakistan, rejecting fabricated claims about the destruction of India’s S-400 missile system and damage to airbases in Suratgarh and Sirsa. “India unequivocally rejects these false claims being spread by Pakistan,” she stated.
Earlier in the day, defence officials reported that Pakistani Byker YIHA III Kamikaze drones were launched into civilian areas in Punjab’s Amritsar region around 5 AM. These drones, aimed at targeting innocent civilians, were intercepted and destroyed mid-air by India’s Army Air Defence units.
Debris of similar projectiles was also discovered in Rajasthan’s Barmer district, further indicating Pakistan’s continued targeting of civilian zones.
As the situation along the border remains volatile, four airbases in Pakistan were reportedly hit by Indian retaliatory strikes early Saturday, following Pakistan’s attack on 26 locations across India. Intermittent firing continues along the Line of Control (LoC).
These escalations follow India’s launch of Operation Sindoor, in which Indian forces targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir earlier this week. The operation was a direct response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
