Shah Rukh Khan made history on Monday by becoming the first Indian male actor to attend the prestigious Met Gala, often dubbed Hollywood’s biggest night in fashion. Held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, the event saw the Bollywood superstar turn heads with his regal, all-black look.

Ahead of his red carpet appearance, Shah Rukh greeted fans outside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, where he was seen shaking hands and blowing kisses—much to the delight of his admirers. Videos of the interaction quickly spread online, adding to the buzz surrounding his debut.

Styled by renowned Indian designer Sabyasachi, SRK wore a sleek black suit paired with a tiger sceptre, adding a royal, modern Maharaja touch to his ensemble. But the true showstopper was a custom gold necklace with the letter ‘K’, a nod to his iconic title “King Khan.” He further accessorized with layered gold chains that added opulence to his look.

SRK was accompanied by his longtime manager Pooja Dadlani at the event. Fans on social media platforms like X and Instagram flooded timelines with reactions, hailing his look as “dapper” and “legendary.”

Designer Sabyasachi, who also walked the Met Gala carpet this year, confirmed his collaboration with SRK through a series of Instagram Stories. He posted the phrase “KING KHAN,” followed by another that read “KING KHAN BENGAL TIGER,” alluding to both SRK’s persona and the tiger emblem that is central to the Sabyasachi brand identity.

The ensemble perfectly captured the 2025 Met Gala theme, “Tailoring Black Style.” Shah Rukh’s confident and charismatic presence stood out among global icons, reaffirming his international appeal.

Other Indian celebrities who graced the Met Gala this year included Kiara Advani, Priyanka Chopra, and Isha Ambani, making it a strong year for Indian representation on fashion’s grandest stage.
