The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has carried out over 800 targeted strikes against the Houthi terrorist group in Yemen since March 15, aiming to restore freedom of navigation and reinforce American deterrence in the region. CENTCOM’s sustained military campaign has significantly reduced Houthi attacks on international shipping, with ballistic missile launches dropping by 69% and drone strikes decreasing by 55%.

In a statement released on Sunday, CENTCOM highlighted the success of its operations, which have killed hundreds of Houthi fighters, including key leaders involved in missile and UAV operations. The strikes have also targeted and destroyed numerous Houthi military assets, such as command-and-control facilities, air defense systems, weapons manufacturing and storage locations.

“Since the start of Operation Rough Rider, USCENTCOM has struck over 800 targets, effectively degrading the Houthis’ ability to conduct attacks on international shipping lanes,” the statement said. “We will continue to increase pressure on the Houthis and further dismantle their capabilities as long as they continue to impede freedom of navigation.”

CENTCOM also noted that the strikes have disrupted Houthi operations at Ras Isa Port, impacting their ability to fuel military activities and depriving them of millions in revenue for their terror operations. The campaign has involved two Carrier Strike Groups, the Harry S. Truman and the Carl Vinson, showcasing the strength and precision of the US military.

Furthermore, CENTCOM accused Iran of continuing to support the Houthis, which enables the group to persist with its attacks. The US has pledged to maintain pressure on the Houthis until the objectives of restoring freedom of navigation and enhancing American deterrence are achieved.
