On the sacred occasion of Ram Navami on Sunday, the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya witnessed a celestial moment as the ‘Surya Tilak’ — a beam of sunlight — precisely illuminated the forehead of Ram Lalla, forming a divine tilak at exactly noon.
The rare and symbolic event was captured in visuals showing priests offering special prayers to Ram Lalla as sunlight streamed through the temple architecture to touch the deity’s forehead, marking a significant moment in the day’s celebrations.
Thousands of devotees thronged Ayodhya and other temple towns across Uttar Pradesh, including Sambhal, to offer prayers and participate in the festivities. In anticipation of the large turnout, authorities implemented stringent security measures, including zonal divisions, drone surveillance, and mass deployment of police personnel.
Speaking to ANI, Ayodhya’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajkaran Nayyar stated, “A large number of devotees are arriving on the occasion of Ram Navami. We have divided the areas into different zones and are using drones for effective crowd management and security.”
Additional SP Madhuban Singh also commented on the arrangements at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, noting, “Police personnel have been deployed in large numbers. Proper parking facilities and safety measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth darshan experience for all devotees.”
In Sambhal, similar security arrangements were enforced. Officers closely monitored temple premises using surveillance systems to ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings on Ram Navami via social media platform X. “Heartfelt greetings to all countrymen on the occasion of Ram Navami. May this holy and sacred occasion of Lord Shri Ram’s birth festival bring new consciousness and fresh enthusiasm into all your lives and continuously provide new energy to the resolve of a strong, prosperous, and capable India. Jai Shri Ram!” he wrote.
The Surya Tilak at Ram Janmabhoomi not only captivated devotees with its spiritual symbolism but also marked a milestone in the temple’s architectural and cultural significance, aligning the divine with the celestial.
