On International Women’s Day, Anita Devi, a resident of Anantapur village in Bihar’s Nalanda district, took over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s social media account to share her inspiring journey of entrepreneurship. In 2016, Anita founded Madhopur Farmers Producer Company Limited, which now empowers hundreds of women by providing them with livelihood opportunities.

In her message, Anita reflected on the challenges she faced in life but emphasized her determination to become self-employed. She credited her success to the booming startup culture in India, which encouraged her to start her own business, focusing initially on mushroom production.

Anita shared how her venture not only improved her own life but also helped hundreds of women in her community gain financial independence. “I have not only made my path easier but have also made hundreds of women self-reliant by giving them employment opportunities,” she wrote on PM Modi’s social media handle.

She also spoke about how training provided by the Bihar Government’s Jeevika Project and the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) helped her get started in mushroom farming. She connected many women in her village with the training, empowering them to become part of the thriving business.

Anita’s message to women across the country was one of self-reliance and determination. “If I did it, you can do it too! I believe that if I can do this work, then anyone can do it,” she said, urging women to pursue their dreams and transform their lives and the lives of their families.

Looking ahead, Anita shared her future aspirations, including exploring work related to Makhana after the establishment of the Makhana Board. She expressed her greatest joy in seeing women in her company achieve economic independence and self-respect.

Through her journey, Anita Devi has become an inspiration for women across India, demonstrating the power of hard work, dedication, and empowerment in achieving success.
