Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an aerial survey on Saturday to assess the damage caused by the avalanche near Mana village in Chamoli district. He also visited Joshimath to meet with injured Border Roads Organisation (BRO) workers who had been rescued and brought to the Joshimath military hospital for treatment.

As of Saturday morning, 47 out of 55 BRO workers trapped in the snow had been rescued, and efforts are still underway to locate and save the remaining eight. Four Indian Army helicopters have been deployed to assist with the ongoing rescue operations, according to Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari.

Tiwari confirmed that seven rescued workers were being treated in Joshimath Hospital, with three in stable condition. The rescue operation continues, with hopes high for the safe recovery of the remaining workers.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Chief Minister Dhami to review the situation and the progress of the rescue efforts.

The workers had been trapped when an avalanche hit on Friday, and teams from the NDRF, Indian Army, and Indo-Tibetan Border Police have been working tirelessly in a joint operation to save those affected.
