Ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an empowering initiative to honor and showcase the achievements of women across India. In a unique move, PM Modi revealed that he would be handing over his social media accounts, including X and Instagram, to a select group of inspiring women for the day. These women, who have excelled in various fields, will use the platforms to share their experiences, achievements, and challenges with the nation.
In his 119th episode of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi shared details of this initiative. He said, “This time, on Women’s Day, I am going to take an initiative dedicated to the power of women. I will hand over my social media accounts, like X and Instagram, to a few inspiring women from our country for one day. These women have made a mark in different fields, innovated, and succeeded. On March 8, they will share their stories and experiences with the nation.”
The Prime Minister emphasized that while the platforms belong to him, the focus will be on celebrating the achievements and challenges of these women. “The platform may be mine, but their experiences, challenges, and accomplishments will take center stage,” he added.
PM Modi also encouraged women across the country to participate in the initiative through the NAMO App. He invited them to share their messages globally, using his social media accounts as a medium. “If you want this opportunity to be yours, join the special forum on the NAMO App, and spread your message to the world through my X and Instagram accounts,” he said.
Further highlighting India’s growing influence in the field of technology, PM Modi praised the country’s advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI). He referenced his recent visit to Paris, where he participated in a major AI conference, where India’s progress in the sector was widely acknowledged.
PM Modi also shared an inspiring example of how AI is being used in innovative ways in India. He mentioned a teacher from Telangana, Thodasam Kailash, who is using AI to preserve tribal languages. “In Telangana’s Adilabad, Kailash Ji, a government school teacher, is using AI to compose songs in the Kolami language, helping to preserve tribal languages. His work has gained popularity on social media, especially among tribal communities,” he said, praising the creative application of technology.
The Prime Minister concluded by emphasizing the vital role of India’s youth in embracing and driving new technological revolutions. “Whether it’s in space or AI, the youth of India are leading the way, and people of India are second to none in adopting and using new technologies,” PM Modi said.
