Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took a sacred ‘Snan’ (bath) at the Triveni Sangam—the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers—during the ongoing Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. Describing the experience as a moment of divine connection, he shared his feelings of devotion on social media.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Blessed to be at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. The Snan at the Sangam is a moment of divine connection, and like the crores of others who have taken part in it, I was also filled with a spirit of devotion.” He further wished for blessings from Maa Ganga, saying, “May Maa Ganga bless all with peace, wisdom, good health, and harmony.”

Earlier, upon his arrival in Prayagraj, the Prime Minister took a boat ride along the Yamuna River with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Following this, he offered prayers at the sacred Triveni Sangam.

Mahakumbh 2025, which began on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025), is the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, attracting millions of devotees from around the globe. The event will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26.

In alignment with his commitment to preserving and promoting India’s spiritual and cultural heritage, PM Modi has actively worked towards improving the infrastructure and facilities at pilgrimage sites. During his visit to Prayagraj on December 13, 2024, he inaugurated 167 development projects worth Rs 5,500 crore aimed at enhancing connectivity and public amenities.

By 8 am on Wednesday, over 3.74 million devotees had taken a holy dip at the Sangam, further enriching the spiritual atmosphere surrounding this monumental event. This includes over 1 million Kalpvasis and nearly 2.75 million pilgrims who arrived early to seek blessings.

As of February 4, 2025, data from the Uttar Pradesh government indicates that the total number of bathers at the Mahakumbh has surpassed 382 million, emphasizing the event’s unmatched spiritual and cultural significance.
