BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri, the candidate for the Kalkaji Assembly seat, has launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing them of attempting to “buy the democratic rights of the public.” His remarks came after a vehicle with a Punjab registration plate was found near Delhi’s Punjab Bhawan containing AAP pamphlets, several bottles of liquor, and cash worth lakhs.

On Wednesday night, Delhi Police received a tip-off about a suspicious vehicle with a ‘PB’ number plate, bearing the words ‘Punjab Sarkar,’ parked near the Punjab Bhawan. Upon inspection, authorities discovered AAP promotional material, liquor bottles, and significant amounts of cash inside the vehicle.

“The AAP is in power in Punjab, and now bundles of cash and liquor have been found in a vehicle linked to them. Arvind Kejriwal has been exposed in the lead-up to Delhi elections, and he’s trying to buy the democratic rights of the public. The people of Delhi will respond decisively to this,” said Ramesh Bidhuri in a statement to ANI.

However, the Punjab government swiftly issued a rebuttal, claiming that the vehicle’s registration plate was “forged and fake.” The government clarified that the vehicle in question was not connected to the state government.

According to the Punjab government, the vehicle was registered to Major Anubhav Shivpuri, an Army officer who was stationed at the Army Dental College in Pathankot three years ago. They also pointed out that the number plate lacked a High Security Registration Plate (HSRP), and the car model did not match official records.

“The vehicle with registration number PB35AE1342 is listed as a 2018 Ford EcoSport in our records, but the vehicle in question is a Hyundai Creta. This discrepancy proves the number plate was forged. Additionally, the plate lacks the necessary HSRP features, making it easy to counterfeit,” the statement explained.

The Punjab government also emphasized that they had searched their records and confirmed that neither the vehicle nor its owner had any connection to the Punjab government.

“The vehicle does not belong to the Punjab government at all,” the statement concluded.
